The first step to meeting with an attorney at Wakefield Law, PC is to schedule an appointment. Although most of our appointments are at our law office, we can schedule phone and Zoom conferences for those with difficult schedules.

To make the most efficient use of our time, we attempt to schedule the majority of our meetings in our law office. However, if you can not come to our office due to a physical handicap or other serious cause, we can arrange for an attorney to come to you. Please note that we typically charge a fee for appointments outside our offices.

Our general hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We typically offer later appointment times on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for those who are unable to meet during normal office hours.

For estate plan meetings, it is helpful to bring the following documents: 1) a general list of your assets and liabilities (personal financial statement), 2) the death benefit and cash value amounts for any life insurance policies, 3) real estate deeds, 4) prior estate planning documents, 5) prenuptial agreements, 6) divorce settlement agreements, and 7) buy-sell agreements.
Most of our initial meetings follow a fairly standard format: 1) introductions, 2) determination of your objectives, 3) explanation/education regarding options available, 4) recommendations on course of action, 5) fee quotation for any work to be performed (if necessary), and 6) data gathering (if necessary).
No. Many people fail to create an estate plan because they do not understand their options or they are unable to make up their mind on various issues.
